Welcome to Fifth Grade Science! This year in science you will learn many new and exciting concepts. We will do experiments in class and research exciting information! The units that we will be studying this year in Science are:

• Adaptations
• Space
• Forces & Motion
• Body Systems

When we are studying the different units in science you will also be developing important skills that will help you throughout your life. Some of the important skills you will further develop this year in science are:

o Computer skills
o Research Skills
o Reading Skills
o Writing Skills
o Team Work Skills
o Study Skills
o Organizational Skills


To make sure you have a successful fifth grade year in science it is important to remember the following:

• Bring your science book to class every day
• Have lined sheets of paper to take notes
• Study the “Reviews” more than a day before the test
• Turn your homework in on time
• Ask questions if you don’t understand
• Be polite and helpful to other students
• Keep your Science Folder organized
